AEAA uses current Retrotec systems, including a Model 5000 blower door and a Model 340 DucTester for duct leakage testing.
Are you independent of the builder and HVAC company?
Yes. AEAA provides third-party testing only. We are not the installing HVAC crew, a sealing company, or the builder's employee. Some counties (including Pima) require the tester not be an employee of the builder or of subcontractors on the tested system. That keeps AHJ paperwork clean and leaves repairs with your preferred HVAC partner.
What is a blower door test?
A blower door is a calibrated fan sealed into an exterior door opening. It depressurizes (or pressurizes) the home so the tester can measure envelope air leakage—commonly reported at 50 Pascals—and help document IECC compliance. If a home is not meeting the target, AEAA can help locate key leakage areas using infrared and/or theatrical smoke as appropriate.
What is a duct leakage test?
A duct leakage (duct blaster) test measures how much air escapes the duct system under controlled pressure, producing a documented leakage result used for code compliance and quality control on new construction and retrofit scopes.
Can you do blower door and duct leakage on the same trip?
Yes. When both tests are due on the same home, AEAA can often complete blower door and duct leakage in one visit so HVAC, GCs, and builders get inspector-ready results with less scheduling friction.
