Service coverage: Tucson, Marana, Catalina foothills, Mt. Lemmon, Green Valley, Vail & southern Arizona

Primary customers: HVAC companies, general contractors, and home builders.

Testing at elevation: Mt. Lemmon, the foothills and mountain builds

Homes in the Catalina foothills and up on Mt. Lemmon get tested in thinner, colder air than a valley job. Fan flow and duct pressure readings have to be corrected for altitude and temperature, or the numbers on the report won’t reflect what the house is really doing. AEAA sets up those corrections before the test starts, runs the blower door and the duct leakage test in the same trip, and gives your inspector signed results.

What to have ready for a mountain job:

• Power on, and the home dried in with penetrations sealed

• HVAC installed, registers and grilles in place, and ducts accessible for sealing off

• Door and driveway access that can handle a truck with test equipment (snow or washouts can change the schedule in winter)

• The permit number and the Pima County plan limits for the job

Same equipment and same HERS and BPI credentials on every job, whether it’s a tract home in Marana or a custom home at 7,800 feet.
